MEETING OF: CITY COUNCIL (Special Meeting)
DATE OF MEETING: August 15,200O
TIME OF MEETING: 4:30 p.m.
PLACE OF MEETING: City Council Chambers
CALL TO ORDER: Mayor Lewis called the Special Meeting to order at 4:30 p.m.
ROLL CALL: The following Council Members were present:
Present:
Absent:
Mayor Lewis, Mayor Pro Tern Hall, Council Members Kulchin and
Nygaard.
Council Member Finnila.
CLOSED SESSION:
Council recessed into Closed Session at 4:30 p.m. to consider the following:
1. GOVERNMENT CODE SECTION 54956.9(a) - Sierra Pacific V. Taylor Ball and all
related cross actions, Case No. N81303.
2. GOVERNMENT CODE SECTION 54957.6 - To discuss employer-employee
relations, salaries, salary schedules, and compensation in the form of fringe benefits
with designated staff as labor negotiators (Frank Mannen, Assistant City Manager;
Jim Elliott, Administrative Services Director; Julie Clark, Acting Human Resources
Director; Kevin Branca, Assistant Finance Director; and, Deborah Porter,
Management Analyst) with respect to the negotiations with the CFA, CCEA, Police
Management Association employee organizations and unrepresented employees.
Council reconvened at 550 p.m. with Mayor Lewis and all four Council Members present,
except for Council Member Finnila.
Mayor Lewis announced that Council had heard the information and instructed staff and the
Attorney regarding the item.
By proper motion, the Special Meeting was adjourned at 550 p.m.
