HomeMy WebLinkAbout2000-10-17; City Council; MinutesMINUTES MEETING OF: DATE OF MEETING: TIME OF MEETING: PLACE OF MEETING: CARLSBAD CITY COUNCIL AND MUNICIPAL WATER DISTRICT (Joint Special Meeting) October 17,200O 6:00 p.m. City Council Chambers CALL TO ORDER: Mayor/President Lewis called the Special Meeting to order at 7:05 p.m. ROLL CALL: The following Members were present: Present: Lewis, Hall, Finnila, Nygaard and Kulchin. Absent: None. PUBLIC COMMENT ON AGENDA ITEMS: None. CONSENT CALENDAR: Item #I3 was pulled for discussion. 93 PINK 13. AB #I 5,938 - ACQUISITION OF RIGHT-OF-WAY EASEMENTS FOR PALMER WAY SEWER AND WATER PIPELINE - CITY PROJECT NO. 35391, CMWD PROJECT NO. 92-406. Dr. Jack Debes, 4055 Park Drive, expressed concern for an adequate amount of sewer capacity to build out. Bob Greaney, Deputy Public Works Director, explained that there is an adequate amount of capacity in the sewer plant to build out. He explained how sewer capacity is calculated for the three agencies that share the Encina Waste Water Treatment Plant. Mr. Greaney also explained the proposed flow equalization basin. ACTION: On a motion by Mayor Pro Tern/Vice President Hall, the Board affirmed the action of the Consent Calendar, Item #I3 as follows: AYES: NOES: Lewis, Hall, Finnila, Nygaard, and Kulchin. None. WAIVER OF ORDINANCE TEXT READING: This is a motion to waive the reading of the text of all ordinances and resolutions at this meeting. / 2 ** F-. n October 17,200O Carlsbad City Council and Municipal Water ulstrict Page 2 93 PINK 13. AB #15,938 - ACQUISITION OF RIGHT-OF-WAY EASEMENTS FOR PALMER WAY SEWER AND WATER PIPELINE - CITY PROJECT NO. 35391, CMWD PROJECT NO. 92-406. Council adopted RESOLUTION NO. 2000-325, approving the execution of a grant deed of easement for right-of-way for public utility purposes for the Palmer Way Sewer; and, The Board adopted RESOLUTION NO. 1106, approving and authorizing acquisition of easement from Barber’s and Wrisley’s for Palmer Way Water Pipeline.
