MEETING OF : CITY COUNCIL (Special Meeting)
DATE OF MEETING: MARCH 26,2002
TIME OF MEETING: 4:30 p.m. PLACE OF MEETING: City Council Chambers
CALL TO ORDER: Mayor Lewis called the Special Meeting to order at 430 p.m.
ROLL CALL was taken by the Deputy City Clerk, as follows:
Present: Lewis, Kulchin, Finnila and Hall.
Absent: Nygaard.
PUBLIC COMMENT ON AGENDA ITEMS: None.
CLOSED SESSION:
Council recessed into Closed Session at 430 p.m. pursuant to the following:
1. GOVERNMENT CODE SECTION 54957.6 - To discuss employer-employee
relations, salaries, salary schedules, and compensation in the form of fringe
benefits with designated staff as labor negotiators (Frank Mannen, Assistant City
Manager; Jim Elliott, Administrative Setvices Director; Julie Clark, Human
Resources Director; Jim Hawks, Police Chief; Debbie Porter, Management
Analyst; and, Dan Cassidy, Esq.) regarding employees represented by CPOA
and CPMA. If circumstances necessitate the absence of a specified designated
representative, an agent or designee may participate in place of the absent
representative so long as the name of the agent or designee is announced at an
open session held prior to the closed session.
Council reconvened at 552 p.m. with all Council Members present, except Council
Member Nygaard. Mayor Lewis announced that Council had heard the information and
instructed staff and the attorney regarding the items.
ADJOURNMENT:
By proper motion, the Special Meeting of March 26,2002, was adjourned at 552 p.m.
