HomeMy WebLinkAbout2002-05-14; City Council; Minutes (2)MINUTES MEETING OF : CITY COUNCIL (Special Meeting) DATE OF MEETING: MAY 14,2002 TIME OF MEETING: 500 p.m. PLACE OF MEETING: City Council Chambers CALL TO ORDER: Mayor Lewis called the Special Meeting to order at 5:OO p.m. ROLL CALL was taken by the Deputy City Clerk, as follows: Present: Lewis, Kulchin, Finnila, Nygaard and Hall. Absent: None. PUBLIC COMMENT: None. CLOSED SESSION: Council recessed into Closed Session at 500 p.m. pursuant to the following: 1. GOVERNMENT CODE SECTION 54956.8 - To instruct the City’s negotiators (Community Development Director Sandra Holder and Housing and Redevelopment Director Debbie Fountain) regarding price, terms of payment or both for the acquisition or potential acquisition of real property generally located and generally identified as: Soto Family Trust Property 2578 Roosevelt Street Approximately 26,800 square feet total Approximately .61 acre APN 203-102-33 If circumstances necessitate the absence of a specified designated representative, an agent or designee may participate in place of the absent representative so long as the name of the agent or designee is announced at an open session held prior to the closed session. 2. GOVERNMENT CODE SECTION 54956.8 -To instruct the City’s negotiators (Assistant City Manager Frank Mannen, Community Development Director Sandy Holder, and Economic Development Manager Cynthia Haas) regarding the acquisition, or potential acquisition, including price and terms of payment for purchase, sale, exchange or lease of real property known as “The Palomar Transfer Station” and a portion of the “The Carlsbad Raceway” and more specifically known as: May 14,2002 Carlsbad City Council Meeting Page 2 Leaselpurchase of Palomar Transfer Station Property Owner: County of San Diego Lessee: City of Carlsbad Negotiators: Rick Jenkins (County of San Diego) APN Number: 97-0085-AI Location: 5960 El Camino Real, Carlsbad, 92008 Acres: 10.975 Council reconvened at 551 p.m. with all Council Members present. Mayor Lewis announced that Council had heard the information and instructed staff and the attorney regarding the items.
