MEETING OF : CITY COUNCIL (Special Meeting)
DATE OF MEETING: July 9,2002
TIME OF MEETING: 6:OO p.m. PLACE OF MEETING: City Council Chambers
CALL TO ORDER: Mayor Lewis called the Special Meeting to order at 4:45 p.m.
ROLL CALL was taken by the Deputy City Clerk, as follows:
Present: Lewis, Kulchin, Finnila and Hall.
Absent: Nygaard.
CLOSED SESSION:
Council recessed into Closed Session at 4:45 p.m. pursuant to the following:
1. GOVERNMENT CODE SECTION 54957.6 - To discuss employer-employee
relations, salaries, salary schedules, and compensation in the form of fringe
benefits with designated staff as labor negotiators (Frank Mannen, Assistant City
Manager; Jim Elliott, Administrative Services Director; Julie Clark, Human
Resources Director; Debbie Porter, Management Analyst; and Dan Cassidy,
Esq.), regarding employees represented by CPOA and CPMA. If circumstances
necessitate the absence of a specified designated representative, an agent or
designee may participate in place of the absent representative so long as the
name of the agent or designee is announced at an open session held prior to the
closed session.
2. GOVERNMENT CODE SECTION 54956.9(a) -To discuss pending litigation City
of Carlsbad v. Liew, Case No. GIN015893-1.
Mayor Lewis announced that Council had heard the information and instructed staff and
the attorney regarding the items.
ADJOURNMENT
By proper motion, the Special Meeting of July 9, 2002 was adjourned at 650 p.m.
