In attendance: Mayor Lewis, Mayor Pro Tern Kulchin, Council Member Finnila, Council
Member Hall and Council Member Nygaard.
PUBLIC COMMENT ON AGENDA ITEMS: None.
The Special Council Meeting was called to order by Mayor Lewis at 6:02 p.m. City
Manager Ray Patchett and Library Director Cliff Lange introduced the program and
acted as emcees for the evening’s program. Mayor Lewis and Council Members
recognized and introduced former elected officials and dignitaries.
The City Council, City Attorney and City Clerk reenacted the first Council meeting of
July 16, 1952.
Mayor Pro Tern Kulchin read a proclamation regarding the anniversary of the City’s first
50 years. Mayor Pro Tern Kulchin presented the proclamation to Mayor Lewis.
Presentations from County Supervisor Bill Horn, the Office of Bill Morrow, the State
Assembly (from Assemblyman Mark Wyland) and the Mayor of Escondido, Lori Holt
Pfeiller, were presented to the Council.
Mayor Lewis presented Neiman’s owner Steve Oggle a plaque to commemorate the
original Council meeting.
ADJOURNMENT:
The Special Meeting of July 16, 2002, was adjourned at 6:40 p.m.
