MEETING OF: 7th Citizens Academy Graduation (Special

DATE OF MEETING: March 18,2004
TIME OF MEETING: 500 p.m.
PLACE OF MEETING: City Council Chambers
The Graduation of the seventh class of the Citizens Academy began at 5:OO p.m. with a
dinner.
The meeting was held in the Council Chambers at 1200 Carlsbad Village Drive.
Council Members Kulchin, Hall, and Packard arrived prior to 530 p.m.
PUBLIC COMMENT ON AGENDA ITEMS: None.
City Manager, Ray Patchett, introduced the Council Members and welcomed the
students to the final Academy session. Mr. Patchett outlined the agenda for the
evening and introduced City staff. Assistant City Clerk, Karen Kundtz spoke regarding
appointment to City Boards and Commissions. Community Volunteer Coordinator, Sue
lrey spoke regarding City volunteer opportunities. Volunteers were selected and the
City Council role play activity was held.
Recess:
A break was taken at 650 p.m, following the role play activity. The session resumed at
7:OO p.m.
Council Members Kulchin, Hall, and Packard participated in the panel discussion,
responding to student questions, and participated in the Graduation Ceremony. City
Council Secretary, Marilyn Strong presented the conclusion and program evaluation.
ADJOURNMENT:
The Special Meeting of March 18, 2004, was adjourned at 8:OO p.m.
