HomeMy WebLinkAbout2006-05-16; City Council; Minutes (2)MINUTES MEETING OF: CITY COUNCIL (Special Meeting) DATE OF MEETING: May 16, 2006 TIME OF MEETING: 4:00 p.m. PLACE OF MEETING: City Council Chambers CALL TO ORDER: Mayor Pro Tern Hall called the Meeting to order at 4:00 p.m. ROLL CALL was taken by the Deputy City Clerk, as follows: Present: Hall, Kulchin, Packard, Sigafoose Absent: Lewis (arrived at 4:35 p.m.) CLOSED SESSION: Council adjourned into Closed Session at 4:00 p.m. pursuant to the following: 1. GOVERNMENT CODE SECTION 54956.8. To consider holding a closed session pursuant to Government Code Section 54956.8, to discuss the lease of real property and instruct City negotiators (Community Development Director Sandra Holder and Economic Development & Real Estate Manager Cynthia Haas) regarding both price and terms of payment of property identified as: Property Owner: City of Carlsbad Address: 5815 El Camino Real Negotiating Party: James Allen of J. Fletcher Creamer & Sons If circumstances necessitate the absence of a specified designated representative, an agent or designee may participate in place of the absent representative so long as the name of the agent or designee is announced in an open session held prior to the closed session. 2. GOVERNMENT CODE SECTION 54956.9(a). To consider holding a closed session pursuant to Government Code Section 54956.9(a), to discuss intervention in Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Assn. et al. v. City of Solana Beach, et al.. Case No. GIN051294. 3. GOVERNMENT CODE SECTION 54956.9(b)(1). To consider holding a closed session pursuant to Government Code Section 54956.9(b)(1), to discuss anticipated litigation regarding the Temporary Fire Station Number 6 Easement. 4. GOVERNMENT CODE SECTION 54956.9(c). To consider holding a closed session pursuant to Government Code Section 54956.9(c), to discuss existing facts and circumstances regarding possible litigation against the Rancho Carrillo Master Association. May 16, 2006 City Council Special Meeting Page 2 The Council reconvened at 5:45 p.m. with five members present. Mayor Pro Tem Hall announced that the Council heard the information and instructed the attorney regarding the items.
