MEETING OF : Citizens' Academy Graduation (Special Meeting)
DATE OF MEETING: October 26, 2006
TIME OF MEETING: 5:00 p.m.
PLACE OF MEETING: City Council Chambers
The Graduation of the Citizens' Academy Class began at 5:00 p.m. with dinner.
The meeting was held in the City Council Chambers, 1200 Carlsbad Village Drive.
Council Member Kulchin and Mayor Pro-Tern Hall arrived prior to 5:30 p.m. Mayor
Lewis arrived at 5:45 p.m.
PUBLIC COMMENT ON AGENDA ITEMS: None
Assistant City Manager, Lisa Hildabrand, welcomed the students to the final Academy
session. Ms. Hildabrand outlined the agenda for the evening and introduced the
Council Members and staff present.
Marilyn Campbell and Joanna Whitton explained the CityStuff Program and discussed
the opportunities for volunteers.
Mayor Lewis, Mayor Pro-Tern Hall, and Council Member Kulchin participated in the City
Council Q&A and Panel Discussion.
Mayor Lewis, Mayor Pro-Tern Hall, and Council Member Kulchin participated in the
graduation ceremony. The graduation ceremony concluded at 6:52, and the Council
Members left the meeting.
Recess:
A break was taken at 6:53. The session resumed at 7:10 p.m, with the City Council role
play activity. The role play concluded at 7:45 p.m.
The session concluded with comments from Citizens' Academy Volunteer Mike
O'Connell.
ADJOURNMENT:
The Special Meeting of October 26, 2006, was adjourned at 7:55 p.m.
