HomeMy WebLinkAbout2007-02-20; City Council; Minutes (2)MINUTES MEETING OF: CITY COUNCIL (Special Meeting) DATE OF MEETING: February 20, 2007 TIME OF MEETING: 4:30 p.m. PLACE OF MEETING: City Council Chambers CALL TO ORDER: Mayor Lewis called the Meeting to order at 4:30 p.m. ROLL CALL was taken by the City Clerk, as follows: Present: Lewis, Kulchin and Hall Absent: Sigafoose and Packard CLOSED SESSION: 1. GOVERNMENT CODE SECTION 54956.9(a). To consider holding a closed session to discuss pending litigation as follows: La Costa de Marbella Homeowners Association v. City of Carlsbad, Case No. GIG 850408; and, Laure Lindley, et. al. v. La Costa de Marbella Homeowners Association, et. al.. Case No. GIG 849880: and, Robert Whitehead. et. al v. City of Carlsbad. Case No 860333. 2. GOVERNMENT CODE SECTION 54957.6. To consider holding a closed session to discuss employer-employee relations, salaries, salary schedules and compensation in the form of fringe benefits with designated staff as labor negotiators (Administrative Services Director Jim Elliott, Fire Chief Kevin Crawford, Human Resources Director Julie Clark, Finance Director Lisa Irvine, Fire Division Chief Chris Heiser, Senior Management Analyst Debbie Porter, and Dan Cassidy, Esq.) regarding employees represented by CFA. If circumstances necessitate the absence of a specified designated representative, an agent or designee may participate in place of the absent representative so long as the name of the agent or designee is announced at an open session held prior to the closed session. The Council reconvened at 5:54 p.m. with three members present. Mayor Lewis announced that the Council heard the information and instructed staff and the attorney regarding the item.
