CALL TO ORDER: Mayor/Chair Lewis called the Meeting to order at 6:17 p.m.
Present: Lewis, Kulchin, Hall, Packard and Nygaard
Absent: None
1. AB #19.082 - CLEANUP AND REPAIR OF DAMAGE TO THE CROSSINGS AT
CARLSBAD GOLF COURSE FROM A PLANE CRASH.
City Attorney Ron Ball briefly reviewed the emergency and the actions needed to
mitigate the damage to The Crossings at Carlsbad Golf Course as a result of a plane
crash on July 3, 2007.
In response to an inquiry from Council/Board Member Hall, City Manager Ray Patchett
explained that staff will be meeting on Wednesday, July 11, 2007 to discuss the impact
the emergency will have on the upcoming grand opening events.
Mayor Pro Tern/Vice Chair Kulchin requested that an item be placed on the July 17,
2007 Agenda to report staffs recommendations relating to the grand opening events.
ACTION: On a motion by Mayor Pro Tern/Vice Chair Kulchin, the Council
adopted RESOLUTION NO. 2007-178. ratifying the City Manager's
Declaration of Emergency Action and appropriating funds for the
mitigation, transportation and disposal of hazardous materials from
The Crossings at Carlsbad Municipal Golf Course caused by an
airplane crash on July 3, 2007; and,
The Board adopted RESOLUTION NO. 39. authorizing a change
order to the contract with Wadsworth Golf Course Construction
Company to repair damage to The Crossings at Carlsbad Golf
Course cause by an airplane crash on July 3, 2007.
AYES: Lewis, Kulchin, Hall, Packard and Nygaard.
NOES: None.
