MEETING OF: CARLSBAD CITY COUNCIL (Special Meeting)
DATE OF MEETING: June 17, 2008
TIME OF MEETING: 4:30 p.m.
PLACE OF MEETING: City Council Chambers
CALL TO ORDER: Mayor Lewis called the Meeting to order at 4:31 p.m.
ROLL CALL was taken by the Deputy City Clerk, as follows:
Present: Lewis, Kulchin, Hall, Packard and Nygaard.
Absent: None.
CLOSED SESSION:
Council adjourned into Closed Session at 4:31 p.m. pursuant to the following:
1. GOVERNMENT CODE SECTION 54956.9fa). To hold a closed session based on
existing facts and circumstances to discuss pending litigation regarding Reba Sue Billick
v. City.
2. GOVERNMENT CODE SECTION 54956.9(b)(1). To hold a closed session based on
existing facts and circumstances regarding significant exposure to litigation against the
City of Carlsbad.

The Council reconvened at 5:55 p.m. with five members present. Mayor Lewis announced that the
Council heard the information and instructed staff and the attorney regarding the items.
ADJOURNMENT:
The Joint Special Meeting of June 17, 2008 was adjourned at 5:59 p.m.
