MEETING OF : CITY COUNCIL (Special Meeting)
DATE OF MEETING: August 5, 2008
TIME OF MEETING: 5:00 p.m.
PLACE OF MEETING: City Council Chambers
CALL TO ORDER: Mayor Lewis called the Meeting to order at 5:02 p.m.
ROLL CALL: was taken by the City Clerk, as follows:
Present: Lewis, Kulchin, Hall, Packard and Nygaard.
Absent: None.
PUBLIC COMMENT: None.
1. COMMEMORATION OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD'S RECENT ACHIEVEMENT IN
BECOMING A CHARTER CITY.
Mayor Lewis and the Council Members expressed their appreciation to the citizen's of
Carlsbad for voting in support of Carlsbad becoming a Charter City.
Ted Owen, President of the Carlsbad Chamber of Commerce, came forward to address
Council. Mr. Owen thanked Council for allowing the Chamber to participate in the
process of Carlsbad becoming a Charter City.
The Mayor, Council Members, City Attorney and City Clerk stepped down from the dais
to sign the City Charter.
Mayor Lewis invited everyone to a cake and coffee reception in the City Manager's
Conference Room.
ADJOURNMENT:
By proper motion, the Special Meeting of August 5, 2008 was adjourned at 5:14 p.m.
