MEETING OF: CITY COUNCIL (Special Meeting)
DATE OF MEETING: April 20, 2010
TIME OF MEETING: Immediately following the adjournment of the City Council
Workshop
PLACE OF MEETING: Planning Library, Faraday Administrative Offices, 1635
Faraday Avenue, Carlsbad, California
CALL TO ORDER: Mayor Lewis called the Meeting to order at 12:45 p.m.
ROLL CALL was taken by the City Clerk, as follows:
Present: Lewis, Kulchin, Hall, Packard and Blackburn.
Absent: None.
CLOSED SESSION:
1. GOVERNMENT CODE SECTION 54957.6. To hold a closed session to discuss employer-
employee relations, salaries, salary schedules and compensation in the form of fringe
benefits of its employees represented by CPOA and CFA with designated staff as labor
negotiators (Cynthia Haas, Deputy City Manager, Julie Clark, Human Resources Director,
Kevin Branca, Assistant Finance Director, Debbie Porter, Senior Management Analyst and
Steven Berliner, Liebert Cassidy & Whitmore).
The Council reconvened at 1:50 p.m. with five members present. Mayor Lewis announced that
Council directed the City Attorney and staff on the matter.
ADJOURNMENT:
By proper motion, the Special Meeting of April 20, 2010 was adjourned at 1:48 p.m.
