MEETING OF: CARLSBAD CITY COUNCIL (Special Meeting)
DATE OF MEETING: March 13, 2012
TIME OF MEETING: 4:30 p.m.
PLACE OF MEETING: City Hall Conference Room 3, 1200 Carisbad
Viiiage Drive, Cartsbad, California
CALL TO ORDER: Mayor Hall called the meeting to order at 4:30 p.m.
ROLL CALL was taken by the Senior Deputy Clerk, as follows:
Present: Council Members Hall, Kulchin, Blackburn, Douglas and Packard.
Absent: None.
CLOSED SESSION:
Council adjourned into Closed Session at 4:30 p.m. pursuant to the following:
1. GOVERNMENT CODE SECTION 54957.6. To hold a closed session to discuss
employer-employee relations, salaries, salary schedules and compensation in the form
of fringe benefits of its empioyees represented by CPMA with designated staff as labor
negotiators (Julie Clark, Human Resources Director, Cheryl Gerhardt, Human
Resources Professional and Steve Beriiner, Leibert Cassidy & Whitmore). If
circumstances necessitate the absence of a specified designated representative, an
agent or designee may participate in place of the absent representative so long as the
name of the agent or designee is announced at an open session held prior to the closed
session.
2. GOVERNMENT CODE SECTiON 54956,9(bH3)(C). To hold a closed session to
discuss significant exposure to litigation.
RECONVENE:
The Council reconvened at 5:45 p.m. with five members present. Mayor Hall announced that
Council directed the City Attorney and staff on the matters.
ADJOURNMENT:
By proper motion, the Special Meeting of March 13, 2012, was adjourned at 5:52 p.m.
