MEETING OF: CARLSBAD CITY COUNCIL (Special Meeting)
DATE OF MEETING: February 19, 2013
TIME OF MEETING: Immediately following the adjournment of the Council Meeting
PLACE OF MEETING: Planning Library, Faraday Administration Building, 1635 Faraday Avenue,
Carisbad, California
CALL TO ORDER: Mayor Hall called the meeting to order at 10:20 a.m.
ROLL CALL was taken by the City Attorney, as follows:
Present: Council Members Hall, Packard, Wood, Blackburn and Douglas.
Absent: None.
PUBUC COMMENT ON AGENDA ITEM: None.
CLOSED SESSION:
Council adjourned into Closed Session at 10:22 a.m. pursuant to the following:
1.GOVERNMENT CODE SECTION 54957.6. To hold a closed session to discuss employer-
employee relations, salaries, salary schedules and compensation in the form of fringe
benefits of its employees represented by CCEA with designated staff as labor negotiators
(Cynthia Haas, Deputy City Manager and Julie Clark, Human Resources Director). If
circumstances necessitate the absence ofa specified designated representative, an agent or
designee may parficipate in place ofthe absent representative so long as the name ofthe
agent or designee is announced at an open session held prior to the closed session.
RECONVENE:
The Council reconvened at 10:58 a.m. with five members present. Mayor Hall announced that Council
met in closed session at 10:20 a.m. to discuss one item. The Council deliberated on what is in the best
interests ofthe City and its cifizens but took no final acfion. Final action, when taken, will be reported
out at a subsequent meeting.
ADJOURNMENT:
By proper motion, the Special Meefing of February 19, 2013 was adjourned at 11:00 a.m.
