MEETING OF: City of Carlsbad Fall 2014 Citizens' Academy Graduation
(Special Meeting)
DATE OF MEETING: October 30, 2014
TIME OF MEETING: 5:30 p.m.
PLACE OF MEETING: City Council Chamber, 1200 Carlsbad Village Drive, Carlsbad, California
IN ATTENDANCE:
Present: Mayor Hall, Mayor Pro Tem Packard, Council Members Wood, Schumacher and
Blackburn.
Absent: None.
PUBLIC COMMENT ON AGENDA ITEMS: None.
Assistant City Manager Gary Barbeno welcomed the students to the last session and
graduation ceremony of the Fall 2014 Citizens' Academy and thanked them for their
participation.
A City Council question and answer discussion panel was held and citizens' questions were
answered by Council members.
Council members presented Citizens' Academy Completion Certificates to graduates.
Council members excused themselves from the meeting at 6:15 p.m.
Volunteer Coordinator Sue Irey gave a brief presentation on volunteer opportunities within the
City.
A recess was declared at 6:20 p.m. The Academy reconvened at 6:33 p.m.
A presentation regarding the Carlsbad Unified School District was given by Superintendent
Suzette Lovely and Deputy Superintendent Suzanne O'Connell.
ADJOURNMENT:
The Special Meeting of October 30, 2014 was adjourned at 7:15 p.m.
