CALL TO ORDER:6:02 p.m.
ROLL CALL:Hall, Wood, Schumacher, Blackburn, Packard
COUNCIL WELCOME AND OPENING REMARKS:
Library Director Heather Pizzuto welcomed the residents to the State of the City video production
and introduced Mayor Hall to give opening remarks.
Mayor Hall thanked everyone for attending the event and introduced Mayor Pro Tern Wood.
Mayor Pro Tern Wood announced that she has focused on the following resident educational
experiences since serving as City Clerk and as a Council Member:
•Citizens Academy
•City Stuff
•Carlsbad Student Leader Academy
Council Member Packard spoke about his desire to make Carlsbad a leader in innovative
transportation options.
Council Member Blackburn commented that the Carlsbad City Council works very well together.
He also spoke about the top quality safety services the City provides as well as the traffic signal
synchronization effort taking place throughout the City.
Council Member Schumacher thanked the residents for attending the State of the City video
presentation and spoke about the importance of ensuring that Carlsbad continues to be a world-
class City for many generations to come.
Mayor Matt Hall spoke about the City's efforts in ensuring that there would always be a reliable
water source for the community.
Following the State of the City video presentation,attendees and staff adjourned to the
courtyard.
