CALL TO ORDER: 4p.m.
ROLL CALL: Present: M. Hall, K. Blackburn, M. Schumacher, C. Schumacher.
Absent: M. Packard.
PUBLIC COMMENT ON AGENDA ITEMS:
Jeremy Jungreis, Esq., representing Ludvik and Veronica Grigoras, provided a presentation (on
file in the Office of the City Clerk). Mr. Jungreis and Mr. Grigoras requested that the Council take
into consideration the efforts that the Grigoras' made to bring the Carlsbad Alkaline Water
establishment into compliance with City codes.
CLOSED SESSION:
City Attorney Celia Brewer read the Council into Closed Session.
Council adjourned into Closed Session at 4:17 p.m. pursuant to the following:
1. CONFERENCE WITH LABOR NEGOTIATORS (GOVERNMENT CODE SECTION 54957.6) -
City Negotiators: Chuck McBride, Administrative Services Director; Julie Clark, Human
Resources Director; Drew Cook, Senior Management Analyst; and Debbie Porter, Hourly
Professional.
Employee Organization: Unrepresented Management Employees
If circumstances necessitate the absence of a specified designated representative, an agent
or designee may participate in place of the absent representative so long as the name of the
agent or designee is announced at an open session held prior to the closed session.
Council Action: No reportable action.
2. CONFERENCE WITH LEGAL COUNSEL REGARDING EXISTING LITIGATION -To authorize a
closed session regarding existing litigation in the matter of:
City of Carlsbad v. Ludvik Grigoras; Veronica Grigoras, Case No. 37-2016-
00003099-CU-MC-NC pursuant to Government Code Section 54956.9(d)(l).
Council Action: No reportable action.
3. CONFERENCE WITH REAL PROPERlY NEGOTIATORS (GOVERNMENT CODE SECTION
54956.8)
Property: 2787 State Street, regarding price and terms of lease.
City Negotiators: Gary Barberio, Assistant City Manager
Curtis Jackson, Real Estate Manager
Negotiating Parties: Alex Goodman and Kristianne Kurner
for New Village Arts Inc.
