PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE: Council Member Blackburn led the Pledge of Allegiance.

PRESENTATIONS: None.
PUBLIC COMMENT:
Glenn Bernard volunteered to support troops at the border.
Vickey Syage encouraged Council to inquire why processes are in place and to pursue more
efficient ways of working.
Dana Roberts, representing Trauma Intervention Programs (TIP}, provided a handout (on file in
the Office of the City Clerk) to Council about the programs administered by TIP.
PUBLIC REPORT OF ACTION TAKEN IN CLOSED SESSION: No reportable action.
CONSENT CALENDAR: None.
ORDINANCES FOR INTRODUCTION: None.
ORDINANCE FOR ADOPTION: None.
PUBLIC HEARINGS: None.
DEPARTMENTAL AND CITY MANAGER REPORTS:
1. SEMIANNUAL TRANSPORTATION REPORT -Acceptance of a presentation describing the
management of transportation assets by the City of Carlsbad. (Staff contact: Marshall Plantz,
Public Works)
City Manager's Recommendation: Receive the report.

Transportation Director Marshall Plantz presented the report and reviewed a PowerPoint
Presentation (on file in the Office of the City Clerk).
ACTION: Council received the report.
COUNCIL REPORTS AND COMMENTS:
Council Member Hamilton announced that she will be hosting office hours on Thursdays from 3
-5 p.m.
Mayor Pro Tern Bhat-Patel announced that she will be hosting office hours on Wednesdays from
3-5 p.m.
CITY MANAGER COMMENTS:
City Manager Scott Chadwick provided statistics relating to the increase in Council Inquiries over
the past two years and stated that he would be returning to Council within the next six weeks to
discuss how to properly resource the organization to accommodate the increase in requests.
CITY ATTORNEY COMMENTS: None.
CITY CLERK COMMENTS: None.
ANNOUNCEMENTS:
Mayor Hall announced that Members of the City Council have been invited to and may be
participating in the following events:
