ROLL CALL: Hall, Blackburn, Bhat-Patel, Schumacher, Hamilton.
This item was continued from the regular meeting of January 29, 2019.
1. APPOINT ONE MEMBER TO THE BEACH PRESERVATION COMMITTEE -Adoption of Resolution
No. 2019-012 appointing one member to the Beach Preservation Committee. (Staff contact:
Tammy McMinn, City Clerk's Office)
City Manager's Recommendation: Adopt the Resolution.
The following residents gave an overview of their qualifications and requested that the Council
appoint them to serve on the Beach Preservation Committee: Briana Corso; Thomas
Applegate.
Council Member Blackburn made a motion to appoint Briana Corso to the Beach Preservation
Committee. The motion failed due to lack of a second.
ACTION: Motion by Mayor Pro Tern Bhat-Patel, seconded by Council Member Hamilton, to
adopt Resolution No. 2019-012 appointing Tim O'Malley to the Beach Preservation
Committee. Motion carried, 4/1 (Hall -No).
2. APPOINT TWO MEMBERS TO THE PLANNING COMMISSION -Adoption of Resolution Nos.
2019-013 and 2019-014 appointing two members to the Planning Commission. (Staff
contact: Tammy McMinn, City Clerk's Office)
City Manager's Recommendation: Adopt the Resolutions.
The following residents gave an overview of their qualifications and requested that the Council
appoint them to serve on the Planning Commission: Ron Withal/; Terie Renteria; Guy Roney;
Alicia Lafferty; Allen Manzano; James Courtney; Dale Bodman; Joseph Stine; Mona Gocan;
Scott Engel.
ACTION: Motion by Council Member Hamilton, seconded by Council Member Blackburn, to
adopt Resolution No. 2019-013 appointing Alicia Lafferty to the Planning Commission.
Motion carried unanimously, 5/0.
ACTION: Motion by Mayor Pro Tern Bhat-Patel, seconded by Council Member Blackburn, to
adopt Resolution No. 2019-014 appointing Joseph Stine to the Planning Commission. Motion
carried, 4/1 (Hamilton -No).

3. APPOINT TWO MEMBERS TO THE TRAFFIC SAFETY COMMISSION -Adoption of Resolution
Nos. 2019-015 and 2019-016 appointing two members to the Traffic Safety Commission.
(Staff contact: Tammy McMinn, City Clerk's Office)
City Manager's Recommendation: Adopt the Resolutions.
The following residents gave an overview of their qualifications and requested that the Council
appoint them to serve on the Traffic Safety Commission: Thomas Applegate; Terie Renteria;
Allen Manzano.
ACTION: Motion by Council Member Hamilton, seconded by Mayor Pro Tern Bhat-Patel, to
adopt Resolution No. 2019-015 appointing Steve Linke to the Traffic Safety Commission.
Motion carried, 4/1 (Blackburn -No).
ACTION: Motion by Mayor Pro Tern Bhat-Patel, seconded by Council Member Hamilton, to
adopt Resolution No. 2019-016 appointing Brandon Perez to the Traffic Safety Commission.
Motion carried, 3/2 (Hall, Blackburn -No).

By proper motion, the Special Meeting of February 12, 2019 was adjourned at 5:12 p.m.
