ROLL CALL: Hall, Blackburn, Bhat-Patel, Schumacher, Hamilton
PUBLIC COMMENT: None.
1. CITY COUNCIL LEADERSHIP WORKSHOP -The City Council will participate in a facilitated City
Council Leadership Workshop. (Staff contact: Jason Haber, City Manager Department)
Mayor Hall welcomed everyone in attendance to the City Council Leadership Workshop.
City Manager Scott Chadwick provided a brief overview of the benefits of holding a
Leadership Workshop and introduced facilitator Danell Scarborough.
Ms. Scarborough led the City Council members and staff through an introduction exercise.
City Council members each gave the reason they ran for their elected positions and why
they engage in public service and civic leadership.
At 12:30 p.m., members of the City Council and staff had lunch and participated in small
group discussions.
The City Council resumed the facilitated workshop at 1 p.m. and shared their core values
and leadership styles.
Mayor Hall declared a recess at 2:19 p.m.
The workshop was called back to order at 2:34 p.m. with all City Council members present.
City Council discussion ensued regarding how best to work in partnership with the City
Manager and City Attorney and planning for the goal setting process in the coming year.

ACTION: The Mayor and City Council members participated in the facilitated City Council
Leadership Workshop.
