PLACD: City Manager's Conference Room
PRESENT:Chairman Jerome Pieti, Julie Almack representing Georgina
Cole, Dr. Howard Harmon and James King.
ABSENT: Hunter Cook
Chairman Pieti called the meeting to order and reminded members local
representatives from Times-Mirror and Foote, Cone and Belding would
make presentations and answer questions at the next meeting, Friday
November 3, at 3:00 p.m. It was suggested that members prepare ques-
tions prior to the meeting.
DISCUSSION
Section II Installation and Operation
City of Carlsbad can not issue an exclusive franchise.
Agreement between La Costa Cable System and City Council
was made prior to annexation guaranteeing La Costa Cable
System integrity of the area (La Costa).

RECOMMENDATIONS: The following sections and subsections be accepted:
Section I, Section II, Section III including Sub-
sections B, C, D and F.
Chairman Pieti will go over subsections A and E with Mr. Biondo.
Reference materials will be kept in Chairman Pieti's office for use
by committee members.
Terms, Renewals and Fees will be discussed at the November 10th meeting,
Meeting adjourned 10:10 a.m.
