HomeMy WebLinkAbout1984-05-03; Community Television Foundation; MinutesFOUNDATION FOR CARLSBAD COMMUNITY CABLE TELEVISION 1200 ELM AVENUE CARLSBAD, CA 92008 - 1989 Minutes - Meeting of May 3, 1984 The meeting was called to order by President Dominguez at 5:50 PM. people were present: The following Foundation Members: Bill Dominguez Bill Levinson Fred Morey City Staff: Roger Greer Joe Eggleston (guest) Alternates: Nancy Little John Brinker Bob Lucas Bill Levinson made a motion that the minutes be approved as submitted, John Brinker seconded the motion and it carried unanimously. SUBCOMMITTEE REPORTS There were no subcommittee reports at this meeting. OLD BUSINESS The application which was approved for Samuel Tracer whose program is entitled, "How to Succeed In Relationships With Really Trying", has been shot and cable- cast. Mr. Levinson had a conversation with the operators regarding his proposed program, "$mart Money". by the operators since he was able to obtain complete funding from outside sources. He reported that this program will be handled directly NEW BUSINESS The application submitted by Thomas Reeser, "The Video Kid", was reviewed. Mr. Reeser has requested that he be granted funding in the amount of $4,760.00. After some discussion, Mr. Morey made a motion,which was seconded by Mr. Brinker, that the Foundation approve funding of the project in the amount of $2,926.00. This would cover all the costs except the salaries of the applicant and his assistant. The vote was as follows: 3 - Ayes 1 - Nay. The motion carried. I r .. - Minutes May 3, 1984 Page 2 The following schedule for payment was set for Mr. Reeser and will be outlined for his approval via a Grant Agreement: $ the wages and salaries condition $1,107 - upon completion of shooting $1,107 - upon submission of completed program ready for cable casting. 712 - upon submission of a statement accepting Roger Greer will write to Mr. Reeser and advise him of the Foundation's decision and send him a Grant Agreement form for completion. The application submitted by Samuel Tracer of the Jewish Family Service, entitled, "Making Peace With Your Parents", was reviewed. Mr. Levinson made a motion to approve the application in the amount applied for of $664.00. The motion was seconded by Mr. Morey and passed with a unanimous vote. After a brief discussion, Mr. Greer will send Mr. Tracer a letter advising him of the Foundation's decision. Mr. Brinker reported briefly on a new County Cable TV Community Access Committee being formed. He mentioned that, at some point, we may be able to refer some of our applicants to them for funding requests either full or partial. information becomes available, Mr. Brinker will report to the Foundation. As more DATE OF NEXT MEETING The date of the next meeting is scheduled for June 7, 1984 at 5:30 PM at the Carlsbad Cablevision offices on El Camino Real. ADJOURNMENT Mr. Levinson made a motion to adjourn, Mr. Brinker seconded the motion and it passed with a unanimous vote. The meeting adjourned at 6:30 PM. ,-
