HomeMy WebLinkAbout1986-04-03; Community Television Foundation; MinutesFOUNDATION FOR CARLSBAD COMMUNITY CABLE TELEVISION 1200 ELM AVENUE CARLSBAD, CA 92008 - 1989 MINUTES - REGULAR MEETING OF APRIL 3, 1986 The meeting was called to order by President Bob Sheppard at 7:37 AM. following were present: The Foundation Members: Bob Sheppard, Bob Cole, Fred Morey, Tom Belcher City Staff: Roger Greer Alternate: Bob Lucas Vi sit or s : Joe Skymba, Carlsbad Library APPROVAL OF MINUTES After a short discussion, Mr. Morey moved approval of the minutes; seconded by Mr. Belcher. Unanimous vote. FINANCIAL REPORT *c Finance Department is in the process of auditing the account. Report until that audit is complete. No Financial SUBCOMMITTEE REPORTS TV Pursuits Bob Lucas reported that the fund raiser is moving along nicely. Library staff has agreed to help write the questions and answers for the program. Roger Greer reported that he has an Agenda Bill before the City Council to have it review the five-minute promo tape and he will ask the Council Members if they are interested in being a team for the TV Pursuits program. The Carlsbad Bob Lucas requested that any members who have any names of people who would like to be on a team or who would be willing to emcee a segment of TV Pursuits to call him. Lucas also reported to the Foundation that the State funds that have been contributed to its access grant program by the operators are now available to this Foundation because the State agency is no longer going to be functioning. OLD BUSINESS - One of the members requested at the last meeting that a time and date change be made for the meetings. After some discussion, Mr. Morey moved to change the meeting day to the second Thursday of each month but to leave the time of 7:30 AM as is. Mr. Belcher seconded the motion which passed unanimously. CATV MINUTES Page 2 4-3-86 NEW BUSINESS Consideration of Grants Children's Dance Workshop Recital - Ricky Mikelman After a short discussion, Mr. Morey moved that the application be approved for the full amount requested of $441. the motion passed with a unanimous vote. His motion was seconded by Mr. Cole and Mr. Greer will write to Ms. Mikelman and inform her of the Foundation's decision. Bob Lucas mentioned the annual conference of the National Federation of Local Cable Programmers which will take place in San Francisco in July. It was decided to table this topic until a later date when more information is available. DATE OF NEXT MEETING - The next meeting will be Thursday, May 8, 1986 at Carlsbad Cablevision offices on El Camino Real at 7:30 AM. ADJOURNMENT Mr. Cole moved that the meeting adjourn. Mr. Morey seconded the motion which passed with a unanimous vote. The meeting adjourned at 8:20 AM.
