APPROVAL OF MINUTES :

PUBLIC HEARINGS :
3. AB #006 - RP 82-1 - ON-SALE LIQUOR ESTABLISHMENT
LOCATED AT ELM AVENUE AND CARLSBAD BOULEVARD.
Chris Saiomone, Community Redevelopment Manager, gave
the staff report.
Commissioner Casler opened the public hearing at
7:47 p.m., and since no one wished to speak on this
subject, the public hearing was closed.
It was noted this was an interesting proposal and
hopefully the applicant couid find another site for
this proposed project.
The following Resoiution was adopted: Casier X

BOULEVARD.
4. AB 8007 - W/CUP 82-3 - PERMIT FOR CONSTRUCTION
OF A 48-UNIT SENIOR HOUSING PROJECT AT JEFFERSON AND
OAK.
Chris Salomone, Community Redevelopment Manager, gave
the staff report, as contained in the Agenda Bill.
Commissioner Casler opened the public hearing at
7:52 p.m., and issued the invitation to speak.
Mr. William Rick, Rick Engineering, Pi0 Pic0 Road,
Carlsbad, addressed the Commission. He reported that
the final architectural designs have been started and
the presentations are being made to the lenders.
Mr. Rick asked that one exception be allowed to the
age rule so they could have an apartment manager who
might be less than age 62.
Commissioner Casler suggested and the Commission
concurred that the Resoiution be amended on page 9,
line 20, section "ar' by the addition of the words,
"except for the manager".
Mr. Don Briggs, Jr., 4115 Sunnyhiil Drive, Carisbad,
addressed the Commission in opposition to the project
due to the discrimination by age.

Since no one else wished to speak on this matter, the
public hearing was closed at 7:55 p.m.

5. AB #008 - RP 82-5 - PEEWIT TO ALLOW ESTABLISHMENT
OF AN OFFICE BUILDING ON THE NORTHWEST CORNER OF BEECH
AVENUE AND ROOSEVELT STREET.
Chris Salomone, Community Redevelopment Manager, gave
a brief staff report as contained in the agenda bill.
Commissioner Casler opened the public hearing at
8:OO p.m.: since no one wished to speak on this
subject, the public hearing was closed.
Commissioner Chick commented that a meeting with the
Post Office officials would be in order to try to
alleviate the traffic problem in that area. Chris
Salomone stated this has been done.
