The Meeting was convened at 6:49 p.m.
The following Commissioners were present:
Commissioners Casler, Lewis, Kulchin, Chick and Pettine.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES: (one motion)
Minutes of the Meeting held January 28, 1986, were approved Casler

PUBLIC HEARING:
3. AB 1/59 - RP 85-19 - CALIFORNIA BUILDERS
Chris Salomone, Community Redevelopment Manager, gave the
staff report as contained in the Agenda Bill, using a
transparency to show the site and drawings showing the hotel
design and samples of materials to be used. I i ’ In answer to query, Chris Salomone explained two traffic
studies were used, one used for the Twin Inns site and the
ERA consultant. Both agreed a hotel could be successful
on this site and the traffic impact would not be detrimental.
Commissioner Casler opened the public hearing at 6:56 p.m.,
and issued the invitation to speak.
Charles Rowe, 4046 Garfield, the developer/builder, stated
he was present to answer questions.
Eugene Roach, 1660 North Hotel Circle, San Diego, stated the
applicant intended to make the hotel compatible with the
area. He explained landscaping would be extensive, and the
hotel would feature private balconies in the front and rear
of the structure. There would be no restaurant.
Since no one else wished to speak on this item, the public
hearing was closed at 7:03 p.m.

ADJOURNMENT :
By proper motion, the Meeting of March 25, 1986, was adjourned
at 7:04 p.m.
