The regular monthly meeting of the Library Commission of the City of Carlsbad
was held in the Library on April 28. Present were Chairman McCann, and Commissioners
Pace, Prout and Walker, and Librarian Cole* Absent was Commissioner Spirey*
Commissioner Prout made a report on the lawn, gate, and shelter sitmatioa* Re
was directed to ask for some tidying up in front of the Library in preparation for
the Open House on Saturday*
Commissioner Pace reported on the last meeting of the City Council*
Chairman McCann discussed Public relations with the local paper* She also
announced a meeting for the purpose of discussing a building site* The meeting will
be held on April 29 in the Annex.
Commissioner Pace reported on the conference of the So. Dist. of the California
Library Assn. which was held on April 26 in daremont. The delegates risited the
new million dollar Honnald Library and enjoyed a stimulating address by Dr. Richard
Armour. The afternoon sessions were quite technical* The only recommendation
that was pertinent to our needs was that a per capita surrey of assll libraries
be conducted.
Chairman McCann will write a letter to the City Council giving them
information and statistics.
The meeting convened at 8tl5 and adjourned at 9t30 Hi.
