The regular aaonthly seating of the Libray Commit «ion of the City of Carlsbad was
held in the Libray on July 28, 1958* Present were Coanissioners MeCann, Pace, Front,
Spivey, and Walker, and Librarian Cole. Chairman MoCann called the meeting to order
at 8*20. Coraissioner Prout was ocxmended for the fine presentation he made to the City
Council.
The minutes of the last meeting were read and approved. There was a discussion of th
budget situation and Librarian Cole gare a report on the darner Reading Program. There
haw been between 22 and 32 in attendance. Chairs for the summer reading program were
borrowed from St. Patricks Church and the secretary was instructed to write a letter of
appreciation to Father O'Dvyer. Note was made that the City had put up the shelter for
the summer reading program.
There was a discussion of shelves and how to better utilize the existing space.
The meeting adjourned at 9«l5.
