The regular Monthly Meeting of the Library Cumm.1 »aion of
the City of Carlsbad was held in the Children'• Library on
Jgnril 13, 1959* Present were Commissioners Prout, Richardson,
Spirey, Strause, and Walker and Librarian Cole*
Chairman Spivey called the meeting to order at itUO. The
minutes of the last Meeting vere read and approved*

the proposed budget was discussed. It includes $2 hours of help
a week with the library being open on Monday end Wednesday from
9 to 9, OB other week days from 9 - 5 and on Saturday from 9-1*
The Couaty has raised frem 71 to?fof per $100.00 sad the proposed
budget figured less than lOf• The estimated inoome for Carlsbad
is $23*000.000. After much discussion the Commission mered,
seconded and passed a motion to increase the amount for books
from $7000 to $8000, With this revision the budget will be sub- .
mitted to the City.
The Commission expressed appreciation to Mr. Richardson for the
pads of paper and the pencils he gare us.
The meeting was adjourned at 8*JO P. M.
