the regular Monthly aeeting of the Board of Library Trustees was called to
order at 8tOO p.m. by President Pro-tea Dr. Arthur Spivey. Those present
were trustees Or. Splvey, Donald Carr, Dr. George Merkle, new trustees
Jeanne McCann, Jean Kanptner, Librarian Georgina Cole, and Oceaneide Blade*
Tribune reporter, Ken Welnberg.
Hie first order of business was to elect a new president, secretary, and
treasurer* Dr. Merkle was sleeted president, Mrs* laaptner secretary, and
Mr* Carr treasurer* Mrs. MeCann volunteered to be present at council meet-
Ings when Dr. Merkle is unable to attend as president*
Mrs* Cole presented statistic* on library circulfttioni

A discussion of the Building Coanlttee followed. Dr. Spivey and Mrs* McCann
volunteered to represent the Board on that oaraolttee. Or* Spivey suggested
that a letter be written to the City Council asking then to appoint two
representatives to the INI Ml. ng Conaittee. The city a*nager and city attor-
ney are also Included as meabers of this conndttee* The friends of the Id*
brary oust be notified of a need for a representative since a vacancy has
occurred*
Mrs. Cole stated that there was a need for outdoor maintenance and policing
of both libraries* The new president concurred and stated that he would re*
quest that it be done*
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at nine p.m.
