Trie regular monthly meeting of the Board of Library Trustees was
held January lUth in the Children's Library. Those present were
President Merkle, Trustees McCann, Carr, Kawptner and Librarian Cole*
Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.
Mrs* McCaun reported that the County Board of Supervisors could
tell us nothing about financing a library* She said that fonaer Mayor
Manuel Castorenm referred us to Schweibacher, a lira in San Francisco*
Mr. Carr is waiting to hear fron the County Council*
Mrs* Cole once again mentioned that the plumbing is defective in
the Adult Library* The building needs painting inside and outside*
An outside light above the front door is urgently required* Dr*
Merkle said that he would talk to Mr. Slater about these Maintenance
matters at once before we write a letter to the Council*
Mrs. Cole says that Mr* iielvin (by telephone) agreed to a
messauine-type building facing west* His schematics will be ready in
one week and in two weeks he will have a man to discuss the financing
of the new library*
