The regular monthly meeting of the Board of Library Trustees was
called to order at 7:10 p.m. in the Children's Library en February 11,
1963. Those present were President Merkle, Trustees MeCann, Carr,
Kamptner and Librarian Cole. Mr. Robert Melvin, the architect, was also
present*
The legal aspects of a lease purchase plan for financing the library
was discussed. Mrs* McCann will ask the new City Attorney Wilson to in-
vestigate the feasability of this method of financing the building and
report to the Building Committee. The Building Committee will them
study the three methods of financing:
(1) mortgage plan
(2) lease-purchase plan
(3) bond issue
After this has been done we hope to be able to make a recommendation
for financing the building to the City Council*
Mrs. McCann made a motion that we accept the schematics (basic floor
plan) of the new library plan, with the corrections pencilled in, as pre-
sented by Mr. Robert Melvin, the architect. Mr. Carr seconded the motion*
The Motion was carried.
The changes desired in the schematics are:
(1) the lavatories and janitor supply area to be
placed in the periodical location
(2) small kitchenette area to be next to auditorium
(3) listening booths and record storage to take
janitorial supply area
Mr. Melvin requested that a copy of the minutes be sent to Mm*
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 9:00 p.m.
