The regular monthly meeting of the Board of Library Trustees
was called to order at 7«2S> p.m. in the Children's Library on April 8,
1963* Those present were President Merkle. Trustees McCann, Spivey,
Carr, Karaptner and Librarian Cole* Mr* Uhland Melton, land planner
for the City of Carlsbad was also present*
Mr. Melton said that since the population growth trend of
Carlsb-d is expected to continue toward £1 Camino iieal, the site
chosen for the future library is a favorable one* The library and
the park will complement each other, he added*
Mrs* Cole r narked that there is a possibility that toe State
Aid Bill might pass* It is now in Ways and Means Committee*
A discussion of the architect's fees followed, Afteyb meeting
of the Building Committee we hope to be able to have definite plans
of financing the new library.
Mr* Carr moved that we accept the Library budget for 63-6U as
presented by Mrs. Cole* The suction was seconded* voted on and
passed*
Since there was no further business the meeting was adjourned*
