The regular monthly meeting of the Carlsbad Library Board of Trustees
was called to order at 7iU5 ?«»• by President Jean Ranptner* Trustees
Wrench and Merkle, and Librarian Cole were also present. Since the Mere*
tary, Ruth Coats, was absent the minutes were not read,
Mrs. Kaaptner read the letter of resignation from Mrs. McCann,
Suggestions for possible replacements were Mr. Bassel. Grosae Jr»t and
Mr. Robert Stauber.
Mr, Melvin has said that he would like to have a Besting of the
Trustees, the Building Committee and the Councilman on February 27th
to shew his design development plans. This meeting will be held at
7130 in the Children's Library on Harding Street.
A discussion of financing the library followed, the question of
putting the library building situation on the ballet arose, however the
deadline for doing so is past* Mrs* Wrench will call Mr. Slater to
ascertain whether or not he has completed the forms for the application
for matching funds under the Accelerated Works Program.
Mrs. Cole announced that the Friends of the Library Book: Fair will
be held Sunday, May 2Uth. A $12,2$2 grant has been given to the five
cities group to hire Dr. Wheeler, a consultant who will go over the
needs of each library.
