LIBRARY BOARD OF TRUSTEES
Special meeting -- June 12, 1978
The meeting was called to order by Father Driver at 10:00 A.M.
In attendance were Trustees Hammond and Munn. Also: Mrs. Cole,
Librarian. Absent: Mr. Falkenstein and Mrs. Schindler.

The Board, after discussion of the proposed budget cuts and
following a weekend in which to study them in detail, directed
the Secretary of the Board to draft a letter to the Mayor ex-
plaining the Board's particular concern in three general areas
affecting the Library.
The three areas, based on written comments by Mrs. Munn, were
1) the adverse effect of the cuts on Library service, 2) the
harm the proposed cuts would do to the permanent collection,
3) the long-range ill effects of the cuts on the Library plant.
The Secretary will, on completion of the draft of the letter,
give the Board members an opportunity to add or to delete
sections thereof. •
The meeting adjourned at 10:45 A.M.
