LIBRARY BOARD OF TRUSTEES
Special meeting — August 2, 1978
The meeting was called to order at 2:02 p.m. by President Munn.
In attendance were Trustees Falkenstein, Hammond and Cipriano.'
Also, Mrs. Cole, City Librarian.
Discussed was the effect of Proposition 13 on the Library budget,
which the City Council will deal with on Tuesday, August 8.
Mr. Falkenstein stressed that the Library's concern with people,
human needs, and the book and audio-visual collection were
"sacrosanct" and that these three things should be emphasized in
the Board's dealings with the Council. The other Trustees were
in accond.
The Board members will contact the members of the City Council
on an individual basis.
A discussion of possible library fees was tabled until the next
regular meeting, at which time staff will submit a proposal on
the matter.
The meeting was adjourned at 3:50 p.m.
