Special Meeting July 24, 1979

The special meeting of the Board was called to order by President Falkenstein
at 2:00. In attendance were Trustees Brownley and Hammond. Also: Mrs'.
Casler, Council; Mrs. Cole, Librarian , and Mrs. Hoder, Administrative
Assistant; Mr. Baldwin, Assistant City Manager. Mr. Bussey was called in
to clarify some points, and arrived at 2:25
The meeting was called in order that the Board might comply with Council's
request of July 23 that $50,000 be cut from the proposed Library budget
and that the Board make recommendations concerning what areas of the budget
might be cut. The intent of the Council, as outlined by Mrs. Casler and
Mr. Bussey, was that this $50,000 be transferred from the budget and be
placed', ultimately, in a land acquisition account for the proposed main
library.
After discussion, Hammond moved, with a second from Mrs. Brownley, that the
Board accept staff recommendations (see attached sheet) for budget cuts.
The motion passed unanimously, and the recommendations will be sent to the
Council .
The meeting was adjourned at 4:00 p.m.
