RECREATION, JEACH. & THEE COMMISSION November 23. 1954 Meeting was opened in the City Hall at 7:40 P. M. by Chairman Felt. Other Commissioners present besides the Chairman were G-lines, Westree, Neilsen, Christiansen, and McClellan. Absent was Comm* Stuart. ? The minutes of the regular meeting of October 28, 1954 and the spe- cial meeting of November 10, 1954, were read and approved. Comm. Christiansen moved that a letter of appreciation be written to Mr. Kraft thanking him for him co-operation with regard to removal of the buildings from the Holiday Park. Comm. Westree Seconded. Mo- tion carried. Lifeguard Supplies 444.00 218.51 225.49 Mrs. Baumfeartner, representing the Junior Women's Club, advised that their group is investigating playground equipment and its cost; that they hope to have available about $600.00 for equipment for the Park by April, 1955. It was decided after some discussion, to seek professional advice in connection with the planning and development of the new Holiday Park. Dr. Willis Miller will be contacted before the next breakfast meeting to determine whether his Planning Dept. of the County Government would be able to assist the commission in this regard. Mrs. Felt reported that Ray Valdez, 630 Pine Ave. has requested that two eucalyptus trees in the alley behin^ his residence be removed. It was moved by Cdrnm. Westree and seconded by Comm. Christiansen that the City Attorney be asked whether it is the obligation of the City to re- move trees obstructing an alleyway. Motion carried. It was decided to meet again for breakfast at the Carlsbad Hotel at 7:30 A. M. December 14th 1954. G. C. McCLELLAN, Secretary
