CORRESPONDENCE :
(1) Letter from H. Amnmnson was read, again protesting the
leaves falling from the Eucalyptus trees adjacent to her property at
855 Oak Avenue and requesting further pruning. Park Supt. Westree
reported that he had investigated the tree following a verbal request
of the tenant Mr. Feister three days ago, and advised hie that the tree
was not in the dangerous catagory, having been severely pruned by a
contract tree firm two years ago and that all heavy, dangerous wood had
been removed at that time and that the City cannot undertake to give
relief from the ordinary falling of leaves and twigs and will also
write the owner to that effect.
(2) Letter from Oceanside-Carlsbad Union High School District,
regarding moving of large Palm Tree from site of new High School. Park
Superintendent Westree reported that after the High School District
found they could not move the tree /that the Park Department had arranged
to recover the tree at partial City expense and that it has now been
transplanted in the City Parkway on Tamarack Avenue, west of the Freeway.

to furnish labor and materials, except metal, to construct a double
Barbecue Unit at Holiday Park at their expense. Park Superintendent
Westree reported that he had had considerable contact with manufacturing

that appears acceptable for our use. He had made a trip to the State
Park headquarters at San Clemente and Carpenteria and had photographs
made and blue prints of the desirable unit and also of picnic shelters.
The Commission studied the plans and agreed to adopt the design.
