CALL TO ORDER
Chairperson Cooper called the Regular Meeting to order at 5:31 p.m.
ROLL CALL
Present: Chairperson Cooper, Commissioners Craig, Martyns, Proulx,
Rudick Stein, Simons, and Withall
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
ACTION: On motion by Commissioner Craig, the Minutes of the regular
meeting held on January 30, 2012 were approved.
AYES: Chairperson Cooper, Commissioners Craig, Martyns,
Rudick Stein, Simons, and Withall
NOES: None
ABSTAIN: Commissioner Proulx
ABSENT: None
PRESENTATIONS
Kevin Granse, Recreation Area Manager, presented the new video of Leo Carrillo
Ranch that will be played in the visitor center.
CONSENT CALENDAR
1. AB # 0312-1 COMMISSION SUMMARY REPORT - (ACTION)
To accept, approve and file the January 30, 2012 regular Parks and Recreation
Commission Meeting Summary Report.
ACTION: On motion by Commissioner Simons AB #0312-1 ofthe consent
calendar was approved.
AYES: Chairperson Cooper, Commissioners Craig, Martyns,
Rudick Stein, Simons, and Withall
NOES: None
ABSTAIN: Commissioner Proulx
ABSENT: None

DEPARTMENTAL REPORTS
2. AB # 0312-2 DEPARTMENT REPORT - (ACTION)
Sue Spickard, Recreation Services Manager, reported on recently completed and
upcoming Parks and Recreation activities, and donations.
ACTION: On motion by Commissioner Rudick Stein AB #0312-2 to accept
a report from Recreation Services Manager was approved.

COMMITTEE/CITY COUNCIL REPORTS
Chris Hazeltine, Parks & Recreation Director, updated the Commission on the City's
Best Value Services Program. Last week there were 14 meetings with the consultant
and staff. The consultants gathered a large amount of data and will give their
recommendation to the City Manager by late May or early June.
Commissioner Rudick Stein asked ifthe current Dog Park would be expanded.
Chris Hazeltine stated that there is no plan to expand or close the current Dog Park.
He said that the Alga Norte Community Park plan does include a dog park.
Commissioner Rudick Stein is going to the California Parks & Recreation Society
conference in Long Beach and will report back at the next meeting.
Chris Hazeltine stated that there are five staff members attending.

ACTION: On motion by Commissioner Martyns to adjourn the Regular Meeting at
6:08 p.m.
