July 25,1955
The meeting was called to order by Chairman Stringer at 7:OO p.ld., at the City Hall, Carlsbad, California,, With the
following members present: Stringer, Ledgerwood, Engelmann, Cockrill, Lwirsky. Ccmmissioner Smith arrived later in the meeting. Also present were City Manager Idelson, Public Works Director Anthony and kir. Kay Kalicka, planning consultant.
The Secretary read the minutes of the meeting of July 11,1955, which minutes were approved as corrected.
The Commission then discussed with Mr. Kalicka the cost of a Idaster Plan for the City of Carlsbad. Mr. Kalicka pointed out
that such a plan would include plans for parks and recreational areas, street plans, pre design of undeveloped areas, parking areas, location of public buildings and a civic center. Such master plan would include work cn the lagoon grea and proposed harbor area to the following extent: site planning, land use planning and highway planning. It would take approximately 27 months to complete the project. The proposed price is $15,000, with a credit of Q3,600 being allowed for the present project. Mr. Kalicka stated the credit could be allowed if the Master Plan was contracted for now, as the present project normally is the first step completed in establishing a new master plan. Srom Mr. Kalicka’s firms viewpoint the cost of the contract could be spread over 3 fiscal years. The Commission deferred any action until more consideration and discussion was given by the Commission.
The Commission and Mr. Kalicka then continued their work and
discussion on the proposed zoning ordinance.
The m9eting adjourned at 10:40 P.M.
