PoureB~s membership on the investigating committee, since he is an affected property-owner, MRS. ED YOUKELE, 3376 Adams, stated that they had bought their property with the understanding that there would never beaa corner at that point, MYRTL8 BROAM, 3275 Adatas, agreed that the street should enter from Basswood, preferably as an extension of McKinley. She also s(;ressPd the traffic hazard which would be created by an access on Adams, MRSO ELEANOR ROIBERTB, 3257 Adams, also objected to the street entering from Adams, both from the standpoint of the traffic hazard aad that car lights would shine directly into her bedroom windowsu MR. ROBERTS, 3257 Adams, expressed fear of an increased drainage problem on his property; aXso that a possible brake failure would put a CBT into his front door, which is directly in front of the proposed street, MK. ROBERT LEGGB, 3227 Atthns, stated he has no objection to the subdivision except that the road &&Id open onto Basswood instead of Adams. MRS, OLIVE HEISLER, 331s Eureka, the subdivider, stated she could not agree that a street coming out on Basswood would be my less dangerous than one opening onto Adamso After a 5-minute recesB9 the Commission was reconvened at 8 525 Po Ff, DON DRESSELHAUS, engineer for the subdivider stated t,he map was prepared in strict accordance with City ordinencert, after several conferences with City officials, and that variances have been applied for on P;h lots not meeting requirements, He stated he felt the map as prepared takas into Consideration growth of tho area, with resulting traffic problems, and is the best map poesible for this parcel of land, He admitted the traffic hazard appears to be a valid protest and asked Mr, KalickaUs opinion, Mr. Kalicka stated that a dangerous situation exists due to the Lane being abom the crown of the streetp but that it can be designed in an acceptable manner; that the street ie located on tho plan in the same place where 8 black study of the area nine months ago indicated a street should come through, He stated that at that time several efforts were made to get the property owners together to see what could be worked out towards opening up some of the land-locked parcels but none of them seemed par* ticul arl y inter- ested except Mrs, Heisler ; that she has submitted five- or six plans which have all been found objectionable, He bstakd the staff had run a design on the map, tupning the street onto Basswood, which would leave ten lots in the subdivision but would create a 200 framemt between the sexwet and the next lot below, He commented that the ch jections heard from the audience seemed to be more from a personal point of view than from a technical stand- point, MRS, BROAM asked whether acceptance of this map would not necessitate widen- ing of Adams Street, but h3ro Kalicka stated the Cfty has no money for this purpose at this tineo MR- STONE stated he is the owner of a land-locked parcel which he could ss11 if it could be served by a street, - 2- .
