November 28, 1960
1. The meeting was called to order by Chairman Jarvie at 7:30 P.M. Present be-
sides the Chiman were Conmissioners Davis, Kistler, Hardwick, Grant and Ward.
Commissioner Hughes was absent.
2- TENTATIVE SUBDIVISION MAP OF, SHELTER ,COVE
The Secretzkry submitted the tentative subdivision map of Shelter Cove to the
Comnission for their review and presented proposed Resolution No. 189 incor-
porating the recommendations of the various departments and agencies as con-
ditions for recornending its approval. The Secretary then certified as to
the mailing of notices to adjoining property owners.
Chairman Jarvie stated that he had talked to Mr. Devore, the representative of
the Sen Diego Gas and Electric Company and he had asked that they be contacted
by the Macey people before they started any work in the cove. They were not
against the project but before the work is started, satisfacftory arrangements
should be made between the developers and the San Diego Gas and Electric in re-
gard to the lagoon and before this goes to the City Council, they want to know
just what is going to be done. Anything sent to the City Council must be sub-
ject to satisfactory arrangements with San Diego Gas and Electric. The Chairman
asked if this could be put into the Resolution and the Secretary stated that
as long as the Chairman's conversation with Mr. Devore was recorded, the people
had been advised that the San Diego Gas and Electric Company should be notifieda
The Chairman said that the channel widening should be taken up with them and
then asked Mr. Sanborn if he were agreeable to all of this.
MR. CARL SANBORN, 811 N. Broadway, Santa Ana, stated that they were agreeable,
and that they would contact Mr. Devore before they went ahead with anything.
A motion was made by Conmissioner Grant and seconded by Commissioner Ward that
Resolution No. 189 be adopted recornending to the City Council the approval of
the tentative subdivision map of Shelter Cove.
The Chairman asked for a roll call vote.
AYES: Chairman Jarvie, Conmissioners Davis, HarNick, Kistler, Grant and
NOES: None
ABSENT: Conmissioner Hughes

There was some discussion about the direction in which they planned to sewer
and the City Engineer was asked if they would be allowed to tie into the old
sewer plant if their project got under way before there is a new sewer plant
in the south part of town, and he replied in the affirmative.
