(b) Report of City Planner on Council action on Plan- i i ning matters . *
The City Planner explained the location of the property in! : East Carlsbad Annexation 2,4 which was approved at the i i public hearing. Some of the property owners in the annet- ; ation have applied for a conditonal use permit for a drag i
strip and for C-2 zoning on 233 acres of the property. : : The property is presently unzoned but it is deemed to be i R-1 daring the interim basis until the Planning Commis-: : sion has studied it and rezoned it. He also reported that I
there were two other annexations scheduled for public : : hearings on November 5, 1963, by the City. The Council:

Future School Sites. The City Planner reported that he Gd : met with Sam Miller, Mr , Hinton and the City Manager : i John D. Skter regarding future school sites as the presel)t : schools are filled to near capacity. The school wanted to! i know what the expected growth of the City would be in the ; : next three years and of any changes in land uses. He ex-: i plained that he expected a rapid growth in the Falcon Hill ; area, the old Carlsbad Airport area and the areas south : i of the Carlsbad Highlands. I *

The Commission agreed that the schools could have the
assistance of the City Planner in studying these areas but i i there were mixed opinions on the selection of school' sites : ; and whether this was a matter for the Commission to de- I cide on.
: Code Books. Commissioner Davis stated that he felt the i i my Code Book is a valuable source of information and he i i was informed that the Commission could have them issued: ; to them by coming into the office at the City Hall. I !
