He spoke of a need to have streets i: i connect to Sunnyhill Dr. He stated that he had ; : a1 ternate plans with him that would show Tamarack! i going through Birch and he would have no objectioh ; if the Planning Commission entered into a study i group to study this subdivision. DONALD JOHNSON, 4055 Sunnyhil'l Dr., stated he! i was speaking in behalf of the property owners in i ; the Highlands and wished to go on record of favor: i ing complete retention of the 7,500 square foot ; zone, and favored a curtailment of any zone changks : in the area that would result in property devalu-i I ation. They were also opposed to "spot" zoning : i and asked the Commission to follow the City's i ; Master Plan. He stated they are in accord with : : the May Co. Complex and favored the neighhorhood i shopping center at Tamarack and Pi0 Pico, as pro-: : posed. They favored the planning of the downtown! -! business section where the traffic can be handled; : and the the elimination of vacant buildings. He : i stat'ed he believed it would be difficult to put ib : sidewalks on Monroe Street and other streets in I i that area; and referred to school safety. They ; ; favored the Planning Commission action on Park i i Dedication for subdivisions and felt that the 117 ; : to 12% grades the applicant mentioned for Tamara+ i and Hillside would be a good thing since it would; : slow the traffic down. Interstate 5 Freeway except for that portion I I : crossing the lagoon. I
