HomeMy WebLinkAbout2010-11-30; Public Financing Authority; MinutesMINUTES MEETING OF: CITY OF CARLSBAD PUBLIC FINANCING AUTHORITY (Special Meeting) DATE OF MEETING: November 30, 2010 TIME OF MEETING: 6:00 p.m. PLACE OF MEETING: City Council Chambers CALL TO ORDER: Chairman Lewis called the Meeting to order at 6.41 p.m. ROLL CALL was taken by the Deputy Secretary as follows: Present: Board Members Lewis, Kulchin, Hall, Packard and Blackburn. Absent: None. APPROVAL OF MINUTES: Vice Chair Kulchin announced she would abstain from approving the Minutes of the Joint Special Meeting held September 28, 2010, due to her absence from that meeting. On a motion by Vice Chair Kulchin, the Minutes of the following meeting were approved as presented: Minutes of the Special Meeting held July 13, 2010. Minutes of the Joint Special Meeting held September 28, 2010. Minutes of the Joint Special Meeting held October 12, 2010. DEPARTMENTAL AND CITY MANAGER REPORT: 7. AB #43 - 2011 OPERATING AND CAPITAL BUDGET FOR THE CROSSINGS GOLF COURSE. General Manager of The Crossings at Carlsbad Golf Course, Jeff Perry, gave the staff report and Power Point presentation (on file in the Office of the City Clerk). Fred Briggs of Carlsbad came forward and spoke in opposition to the City subsidizing the golf course. He suggested that the City consider closing the golf course or sell it to a private company. Chris Cate, representing the San Diego County Taxpayers Association, also spoke in opposition to the City subsidizing the golf course. ACTION: On a motion by Vice Chair Kulchin, the Board adopted RESOLUTION NO. 55. approving the 2011 Operating and Capital Budget for The Crossings at Carlsbad Golf Course. AYES: Lewis, Kulchin, Hall, Packard and Blackburn. NOES: None.
