ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION (Continued)
Sue Spickard announced that the entire building will be open
during the time specified that week.
Commissioner Ritchie thanked staff for taking on another job
for an entire week.
Commissioner Savary thanked staff for the Volunteer Dinner.
VOLUNTEER RECOGNITION
Chairman Van reported on the Volunteer Celebration held
November 16, 1990. He said the caterer was stuck in traffic
on 1-5 and arrived late, but Sue Spickard's staff helped
out. The consensus was that everyone enjoyed the social
time and the entertainment. Also, it was felt the November
date was a good idea.
Sue Spickard said that the Commission needB to consider that
there were 142 people at the dinner, and the limit on the
dining room is 160. She expressed doubt on how long they
would be able to hold a sit-down dinner. Also, she added
that next year the caterer would be from North County.
A comment was made from the audience to the effect that it
was difficult to circulate in the hallway. There were so
many people there, that it was noisy and hard to move about.
VOLUNTEER DESIGNATION
The Commission discussed volunteer designation, and Sue
Spickard stated there is a check-in list for all volunteers,
but it is the responsibility of each person to sign in. It
was suggested to have more than one party for the
volunteers--but that it was very important to recognize the
volunteers.
Sue Spickard stated that the Volunteer Recognition and
Volunteer Designation items were meant for the Commissioners
to start thinking about for next year.
SENIOR COORDINATOR'S REP0 RT
Sue Spickard reported that the activities are all going on
and very well-received. Today is Thursday Afternoon at the
Movies and all next week will be the open House, with the
dance on Thursday afternoon.
Ma. Spickard stated she is starting to prepare the Goals and
Objectives for next year and the budget process.
Ms. Spickard reported that there have been a few "hiccups"
in the building; for example, the night of the Volunteer
Recognition, the sewer system backed up. That is a flaw in
the design of the project and will be repaired. The work
will all be done outside and will not affect the inside of
the building. Ms. Spickard said the fire exits in the
dining room are to be removed as people could not get around
the tables. There are ample exits without those and the
signs give the wrong impression.

SENIOR COORDINATOR'S REPORT: (Continued)
Chairman Van was concerned with the doors in the billiards

on those doors, and it will be changed.
CHAIRMAN'S-
Chairman Van reported that the new Council Members were
sworn in last Tuesday and Council Member Nygaard is in
attendance at today's meeting. He said that Council Member
Larson will be the Council Member to attend at least one of
this Commission's meetings this year.
