CALL TO ORDER
Vice Chairperson O'Connell called the Regular Meeting to order at 9:00 a.m.

Absent: Surridge

ANNOUNCEMENTS
None
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
ACTION: On motion by Commissioner Nelson, the Minutes of the Regular
Meeting held on January 3, 2006 were approved.

ABSENT: Surridge
PRESENTATIONS
None
APPROVAL OF AGENDA
ACTION: On motion by Commissioner Savary, the Agenda for
March 7, 2006 was approved.

CONSENT CALENDAR
1. AB #0206-1 SUMMARY REPORT
Commission received, accepted and approved the Summary Report of the February
7, 2006 Senior Commission meeting.
2. AB #0206-2 RECEIPT OF DONATIONS
Commission received a donation of $500 from the Carlsbad Bridge Group to benefit
the Senior Center programs. The Commission recommended acceptance by the
City Manager.
3. AB #0206-3 RECEIPT OF DONATIONS
Commission received a donation of $4,000.00 from Mr. Ron Zigler to be used to
support the Senior Center programs such as our Nutrition program and a variety of
recreational and social activities. The Commission recommended acceptance by
the City Council.
4. B #0206-4 REQUEST TO CHANGE SENIOR COMMISSION MEETING
TIME AND DATE
Vice Chairperson McConnell requested that the discussion of the change of day and
time be postponed until next month's March Commission meeting.
DEPARTMENT REPORTS
AB #0206-5 PRESENTATION ON CITY COUNCIL 101
Lorraine Wood, City Clerk provided a presentation on how the City Council meetings
are conducted and what rules and regulations govern the procedures.
COMMITTEE/COUNCIL REPORTS
1. FACT Meeting Report - Commissioner O'Connell had no new update.
2. Gail Lynn, Recreation Area Manager gave Commissioners copies of the newsletter
new format.
Lynn advised the Commission of the forthcoming Volunteer Recognition Dinner to be
held at the Olympic Resort in Carlsbad. The date is set for Friday, February 17,
2006.
3. Jack Risley, Recreation Supervisor updated the Commission on new items that have
been added to the lunch menu.
ADJOURNMENT
By proper motion the Regular Meeting of February 7, 2006 was adjourned to the
Olympic Resort at 6111 El Camino Real, Carlsbad, CA 92009 at 10:00 a.m.
