CALL TO ORDER
Chairperson O'Connell called the Regular Meeting to order at 3:00 p.m.

ACTION: On motion by Commissioner Savary, the Minutes of the Regular Meeting held
on October 5, 2006 were approved.

ACTION: On motion by Commissioner Nelson, the Agenda for November 2, 2006
was approved.

CONSENT CALENDAR
1. AB #1106-1 SUMMARY REPORT - (ACTION)
By a 4-0 vote Commission received, accepted and approved the Summary Report of the
November 2, 2006 Senior Commission Meeting.
DEPARTMENT REPORTS
2. AB #1106-2 LETTER OF RECOGNITION - (ACTION)
The Commission voted 4-0 to approve sending a letter to the City Council requesting the Mayor
to attend a Senior Commission Meeting after January 2007 and award Certificates of
Appreciation to the Senior Center staff. The Commission has also requested e a proclamation
acknowledging the quality programs and services staff and volunteers provide to Carlsbad
seniors.

COMMISSIONER/STAFF REPORTS
Commissioner Nelson updated the Commission that the Steering Committee of the Full Access &
Coordinated Transportation (FACT) has been disbanded due to reorganization.
Jack Risley, reported the Nutrition meal program bought new food carriers for the home meal
program. Risley said attendance in the dining room has been on the rise. Thanksgiving Day
meals were served to the homebound on Thanksgiving by volunteers. In December a special
holiday meal will be served on December 22nd including live entertainment.
Gail Lynn reported the KoKo Beach fundraiser held in October raised $1,620.00 for the Center.
Lynn highlighted some of the upcoming events. Friday, December 8th is the annual Recreation
Department holiday gathering at Carrillo Ranch. December 21 from 1:00 p.m. to 3 p.m. there will
be a Holiday Sing Along and picture taking with Santa and Mrs. Claus.
